Wisconsin to meet Ohio State for Big Ten Championship December 7

Ohio State and Wisconsin will meet in the 2019 Big Ten Football Championship Game presented by Discover on Saturday, Dec. 7, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

The ninth annual Big Ten Football Championship Game is scheduled to kick off at 8 p.m. ET. The contest will be televised nationally on FOX, with Compass Media Networks providing national radio coverage. The winner will earn the Amos Alonzo Stagg Championship Trophy and a chance to play in one of the six bowls that comprise the College Football Playoff, including the Rose Bowl Game.

Ohio State will make its fifth championship game appearance following berths in 2013, 2014, 2017 and 2018. The Buckeyes will be seeking their fourth victory in the contest and third in as many years, having defeated Wisconsin in 2014 and 2017, and Northwestern in 2018. Wisconsin will be making its sixth appearance and first since 2017, having claimed the title in 2011 and 2012. The Buckeyes and Badgers met earlier this season on Oct. 26, with Ohio State claiming a 38-7 victory in Columbus.

The Buckeyes defeated Michigan today 56-27 to end the regular season at 12-0 overall and 9-0 in conference play to claim the outright East Division title.

The Badgers defeated Minnesota 38-17 today to improve to 10-2 overall on the season, including 7-2 in conference play. Minnesota and Wisconsin finished tied atop the West Division standings at 7-2 in conference play, however Wisconsin earned the championship game berth due to its head-to-head win over Minnesota.
