Ever since running into a tiny bit of bad press a few years back Chipotle has been doing whatever they can to shake things up a bit. They finally added queso to their menu, only for it to flop rather quickly forcing a redo of the recipe within its first few months of existence. They also dabbled with Chirizo, which is no longer on the menu. Point is, they're getting creative in an attempt to get people back in the fold.
Well, this right here is certainly going to be their biggest menu overhaul ever.
Last Thursday, Chipotle announced a handful of new items they're putting into action in a test kitchen in New York City. The new items include quesadillas, nachos, a Mexican chocolate milkshake, avocado tostadas, and a green salad.
Details on the new menu items can be found below...
Quesadillas: Quesadillas are one of our most widely requested menu items, which Chipotle has never had on the menu until today. It is a crispy, grilled tortilla wrapped around a melty, cheesy filling and your choice of meat, fajitas or sofritas.
Avocado Tostada: We recognized through market research that millennials were snacking a lot midday, which spurred this concept which is a crispy, corn tortilla that has been fried flat then topped with our fresh, homemade guacamole and your choice of salsas, lettuces, and cheese. Essentially, the Chipotle version of avocado toast.
Nachos: This has been another long-requested Chipotle item. They are made up of house made corn tortilla chips that have been topped with queso and your choice of beans, salsas, and lettuce.
Spring Mix Salad with Avocado Citrus Vinaigrette: An updated salad blend that includes crispy Romaine, Tuscan Oak, Tuscan Red Leaf, and Lolla Rosa. The Avocado Citrus Vinaigrette is a creamy and bright dressing made from avocado, citrus, and cilantro.
Mexican Chocolate Shake: Based on traditional Mexican cocoa, this milkshake is rich and creamy, with a hint of cinnamon and spice.
Frozen Paloma: A tangy, boozy twist on a paloma meets margarita.
