A 12-day mission from December 7th to December 19th, 1972 was the last time American's set foot on the Moon.
Now, more than 50 years later, we're going back! NASA recently introduced the crew of Astronauts who will fly the Artemis II, who will fly a 10-day mission which will be the first in decades to take a crew outside of low Earth Orbit and conduct a lunar flyby. It's scheduled to launch in November of 2024.
