One of the biggest pop stars of the last few years, Grammy winner Dua Lipa, is being sued for copywrite infringement. It really seems like this has become fairly common place for hugely popular artists with other stars like Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, and Ed Sheeran have all had similar suite filed against them in the past.
In Dua's case, the British singer is being sued by a band called Artikl Sound System. According to Music Business Worldwide, Artikal Sound System is claiming that her gigantic "Levitating" is "sustainably similar" to their song "Live Your Life".
Music Business Worldwide says "Released in 2020, Levitating was taken from Lipa’s album Future Nostalgia and has been streamed over 445 million times on Spotify alone, and has been viewed over 475 million times on YouTube".
