It's been more than a month since America lost it's favorite Golden Girl (sorry to the others, but come on, Rose!!). Earlier this week, NBC aired a special looking back at the life and legacy of Betty White, Celebrating Betty White: America's Golden Girl which featured Cher singing that iconic "Thank You For Being A Friend".
In fact, she sang it on the exact sound stage in Hollywood that The Golden Girls was filmed back in the late 80s and early 90s. According to the story from Entertainment Tonight, the song was originally written and recorded by Andrew Gold in the late 70s and was later covered by Cynthia Fee as heard on the show.
