When Ellen DeGeneres announced last week that she was ending her long-running and award-winning daytime talk show, the rumor mill started churning with many pointing to the revelations and accusations of a toxic work environment at the show.
Ellen has done a lot of press in the last few days and remains insistent that the show ending has nothing to do with the bad press and accusations, telling the Today Show that if that were the case, she would not have come back for the 19th and final season.
According to People, Ellen wanted to end the show after 16 seasons but ended up signing for three more years, which is where we are. The article notes, "We [settled] on three more years and I knew that would be my last. That's been the plan all along. And everybody kept saying, even when I signed, 'You know, that's going to be 19, don't you want to just go to 20? It's a good number.' So is 19." Click HERE to check out the full PEOPLE article!
