Growing up in Wisconsin, I know all about weather warnings. In the summer, its tornados and thunder storms and blizzards all winter…one I’ve never hear of, a FALLING IGUANA WARNER! The National Weather Service is issuing another falling iguana warning as cold temps hit South Florida (cold relative to Florida of course). Apparently, Iguanas sitting in trees can be stunned by cold weather and then fall to the ground unexpectedly. Officials say the iguanas will eventually warm up in the morning sun and fully recover. People should not touch the animals even when they are immobilized or try to move them from where they fell.
So, the moral of the story....if you're in Florida, LOOK UP and leave those stunned Iguanas alone!
