Is the years long college admission scandal finally coming to a conclusion?
On Friday, Lori Laughlin was sentenced to two month in prison for her role in getting her daughters Olivia Jade and Isabella Rose into UCLA. She and her husband were accused of paying $500,000 get the kids into the school as recruits of the crew team, even though they did not row crew. According to PEOPLE, she'll also pay a $150,000 fine and serve 150 hours of community service after pleading guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud. This guilty plea was part of deal set up to avoid decades behind bars. Her husband got 5 months.
It's not known at this point when she would actually go to jail or if the current pandemic will effect whether she actually goes...many high profile people in jail have been released to "home confinement".
