First we had Queen, then Elton John...Whitney Houston and Aretha Franklin films are on the way as well...The musician Biopic trend just got a little colder...cold as ICE in fact as it was revealed last week that a biopic about 90s rapper VANILLA ICE is happening!
E! NEWS is reporting that actor DAVE FRANCO is set to play Mr. Ice (who's real name is Rob Van Winkle). The article quotes Franco's comments to The Insider, saying "We have been in development for a while, but we are inching closer and closer to pre-production"
According to The Black List's Description of the film "From a high school dropout selling cars in Dallas to having the first hip-hop single to top the Billboard charts with 'Ice Ice Baby,' a young Vanilla Ice struggles with stardom, extortion attempts and selling out as he makes music history"
The film will share a title with Vanilla's hit album TO THE EXTREME. And of course, since we're talking about Vanilla Ice, enjoy these videos of Ice Ice Baby and we got to toss in his performance with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!!
