With the NFL season likely start with limited or no fans in the stands at stadiums around the country, the people in Las Vegas might have to wait a little longer to check out the new Raiders home, Allegiant Stadium, being called the most expensive stadium ever build with a price tag of $1.8 BILLION! (of that figure, $750 million was paid for with a hotel room tax in the city of Las Vegas).
Some cool facts:
- This stadium is 10 stories tall and can hold 65,000 fans for football and even more for other events. It will be home to both the Raiders and the UNLV football team as well.
- It's got retractable endzone walls that reveal the Las Vegas Strip
- Its got black glass and other climate control features since it's smack in the middle of the Las Vegas desert!
- Aside fro retractable walls, it's got a retractable field so it can be switched out depending on which team is using it or what event is happening.
