Well, this just makes me feel old. Kurt Loder from MTV News turned 75 last week. Before it was all Teen Mom and Jersey Shore, MTV played music videos in the pre-YouTube world. Sprinkled in with Carson Daly and the other VJs was Kurt Loder, the one somewhat serious guy, with the music news. He might be most remembered for breaking the news of Kurt Cobain’s suicide on April 8, 1994. According to CNN, Kurt, who was an editor for Rolling Stone magazine before landing at MTV, is now a movie critic and radio host on SiriusXM. Writer Bess Kalb Tweeted “Happy birthday to Kurt Loder who, despite turning 75 today, is and has always been 51.” He really kind of seemed like the parent at MTV.
