I think the meme below really hits it right...being at home, we are all turned into dogs! We roam the house all day looking for food. We're told "no" if we get too close to strangers. We get really exited for car rides!
It's true, I left the house yesterday to get my wife and I some lunch and being in the car was like a tropical vacation. There's been more than one time since we've all been at home that the whole family piled into the car with no destination in mind...we just wanted to get out of the house.
It appears I'm not the only one. According to Financial Content, American's are bringing back the old "Sunday Drive" tradition that we've long since abandoned. A new report by Cars.com finds that more and more people are looking to their cars to help them escape the monotony of daily life in lockdown.
- 60% of parents and 45% of non-parents have brought back the leisurely Sunday drive simply to be able to get out of the house
- 53% of parents say they are using their cars as a way of escaping their home and their kids
