Out of the stress and uncertainty of the last few days, comes heroes. One of the byproducts of all these sporting events and concert tours being cancelled or postponed, people who work at these arenas and venues at the concession stands, parking lots, ushers, security, many of whom rely on these hourly wages, will not be taking home any paychecks. That’s where some have really stepped up. Kevin Love of the Cleveland Cavs has donated $100,000 to pay the workers at at their home arena, Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Maverics made a promise to pay employees at the Mav’s home, the American Airlines Center, their regular income through what would have been the end of the season!
NBA MVP and Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo has also pledged $100,000.
