I guess with the advancements of technology moving the way it has in retail over the past few years, we are always headed this way. We should not be surprised that a chain of Canadian grocery stores are testing out "smart carts" that come with built-in bar-code scanners and credit card readers so you can pick your items, scan, and pay for them as you go and then head on out! The store says eventually the carts will have high-resolution cameras that will be able to identify virtually, so you'll literally put an item in your cart and head to you car!
Just when i was starting to get used to that self-checkout thing!
