Over the weekend, football falls around the country were shocked when Indianapolis Colts star QB Andrew Luck announced after their preseason game against the Cleveland Browns that at age 29, he'd be retiring from football after just seven seasons. He sites constant injures and rehabbing both on and off season over the past few years as the reason football has lost it's joy. According to NFL Network's Mike Garagolo, the Colts owner Jim Irsay is saying that Luck is walking away from up to $500 million dollars. His Tweets says Luck would stand to make around $35 million a year in the near future, followed by $40-$50 million per year!
That's a lot of cash to walk away from. By the way, he's already earned over $97 million over his 7 years and he's got three years left on his current $140 million contract.
