Hannah's friends surprised her with a fun night out!

If you haven't heard, my husband Jaime and I got married a little over five years ago in Mexico so we could start his immigration paperwork. It was just in front of the judge and my parents weren't even there. We've always wanted to validate our marriage in the church and I know my Mom, along with many other friends and family, have always hoped we'd have some type of celebration here so we decided to finally go for it. We're getting married this Saturday (6/18) with a ceremony in the church and a reception with dinner and dancing afterwards. I'm telling you this to lead into how my friends surprised me with a special night out. Once my friends heard about us finally having a wedding here they had been asking about a bachelorette party to which I said no. I don't like bachelorette parties all that much to begin with and after being married for more than five years I definitely didn't want to do anything bachelorette themed.

My friends are the absolute best and ended up surprising me with a night out at Glassnote Candle Bar which is a space where you get to make your own candles! To say I was completely surprised was an understatement. I had no idea they were planning this! It started with what I thought was just dinner with my friends Kaitlin and Kelli. Then towards the end of dinner my friends and coworkers Shannen and Quinn showed up. I thought it was just a coincidence until I realized oh no this was planned! That's when they told me they had a surprise for me. So we paid our bill, started walking down the street and sure enough I see two more friends, Jen and Marcy! We finally arrived at our destination which ended up being Glassnote and I felt so special and grateful they did this for me. It got even better when another friend Becky showed up who I hadn't see in far too long! I was blown away by this surprise and was reminded what amazing friends I have. We had the best time laughing and catching up and although I've been feeling very overwhelmed with everything going on I ended the night feeling so loved and have such great appreciation for these amazing women. Now that's a feel good story for my Make It Through Monday moment!

P.S. - I highly recommend Glassnote Candle Bar. I've been there twice now and enjoyed both occasions.
