My Dad and I made our own succulents - Make It Through Monday

With all the event cancellations last week I was so worried our BYO succulent workshop was going to get cancelled. My Dad loves plants so I thought this workshop would be so fun for us to do together so I bought it for him for Christmas. He was so excited when he opened it and even more excited this past week when the day was finally drawing near. I was so relieved when I called to confirm the class was still happening and they said YES! We arrived early to the Milwaukee Public Market where the class was being held. It was my Dad's first time there so I showed him around to all the different stores and restaurants. He thought it was so cool and was already planning to come back.

We noticed they were letting people in so we jumped in line to check in. We got to pick our planter, of which they had lots of great options, and up to five succulents. Everything we needed was provided and there were plenty of options. My Dad was like a kid in a candy store picking everything out and was super engaged while the leader of the class ran through all the info (see pictures below). Emily Watson of Wood Violet Floral Design was our instructor and she was awesome. She answered all of my Dad's questions and he had just a few. The whole morning my Dad just kept saying how cool this was and how much he was enjoying himself. After a week of extra stress hearing about all these cancellations, trying to communicate to our winners/listeners all while trying to keep up with all the info being released, it was so nice to just check out and enjoy the moment. I'm so grateful they didn't cancel the class as it was just what we needed to lift our spirits and hopefully yours too. Enjoy these pictures from our experience as my Make It Through Monday moment. In these crazy times remember to make the best of the situation and I hope you find lots of little victories to make you smile.
