Here's why all your zippers have 'YKK' on them

You've seen that tons of your zippers have the letters 'YKK' on them and you've probably wondered why. It's not some major conspiracy or anything it's just the name of the zipper company. I love that our minds automatically go to thinking it stands for something major when in fact it's as simple as company branding. It stands for "Yoshida Kogyo Kabushikikaisha" which translates to "Yoshida Company Limited." Obviously you guessed they are a zipper manufacturer but did you know just how massive they are? They make roughly half of the zippers on this earth! Wow that's pretty impressive. No one is trying to go up against them either because they're a good company that designers enjoy and trust. Way to corner a market! 'YKK' didn't invent the zipper though. Find out who did and read more from msn.com
