Vacation and time off from work is one of the most important things in your life. It's necessary to get away and decompress for a while but it is so stressful! You're working so hard to get prepared for leaving and then when you get back you have to work so hard to get caught back up. I'm heading on vacation on Friday and will be gone for a week so I'm starting to stress a little trying to get everything done before I go.
What I realized is, in this situation I'm my own worst enemy. I'm stressing myself out even more than needed. Ultimately I will get everything done I need to and if I remain calm during preparation vs freaking out I'll be much better off! So my quote today for my Make It Through Monday moment, powered by Winkie's in Whitefish Bay, deals with remaining calm:
Remaining calm during this week will be my biggest focus because I can get way more done if I don't stress out plus I'll be able to enjoy it more! I hope if/when you're in the same situation you're able to reference this quote and it helps you remain calm and relaxed. My Mom also taught me a little technique for calming my breathing and helping me to relax. You breathe in for four counts slowly, then hold your breath for two counts and breathe out slowly for four counts. It's unreal how much it helps so give it a try next time you're in a stressful situation.
I also thought it would be fun and helpful to share a bunch of the "keep calm" sayings I found on Pinterest. Do you have any good ones to share?
