Hannah's weekend in five pictures 7/4-7/8

I'm going all the way back to the 4th of July since for many people it was a nice long weekend!  I unfortunately was working but in my line of work, we get to have lots of fun so it hardly seems like work most days!  I spent the 4th of July at my friends' house in Racine.  We had a huge cookout and played volleyball.  They have a beautiful yard and although it was crazy hot, it was so much fun!  I was laughing because although they had the normal burgers, hot dogs, etc., I ended up eating tacos de carne asada, rice, beans, guacamole and nopales (cactus) which is of course Mexican food.  It's my favorite though so I was a happy camper!  After eating so much food I was a little sluggish during our first game of volleyball.  I'm not the best player but can hold my own.  In this picture is seems we are all looking at the ball which was hit way off the court.  Fingers crossed I didn't hit that one! haha  Thanks to my friend Norma for taking these pictures and videos!  Can't wait for the next party when we get to play again.  I better start practicing!

I was back at Summerfest working on Thursday but again it hardly seems like work when we get to experience such amazing concerts and hang with so many great people!  I had one of the coolest experiences of my life Thursday night which is the picture below.  We were hanging on Brett Young's bus (yes I know awesome in itself) when he informed us that his friend Gavin DeGraw (this just keeps getting better), who played Summerfest the night before, hung around and would be joining him onstage to sing a few songs!  The exciting news just kept coming too!  He also said that they needed to warm up together so Gavin was on his way to the bus right now!  I literally got to see Gavin and Brett singing in Brett's bus together and it was a major fan girl moment for me.  I've been in the business for quite a few years now but I still get excited about these moments.  It's just so cool to see how the business works.

Although it would have been cool to hang on the bus for the rest of the night, Brett had a show and I had work to do!  Pictured left to right is Shan, Quinn and myself.  This is a picture of us onstage getting ready for Shan and Quinn to intro Brett Young to that amazing crowd.  I get to enjoy a lot of really cool experiences with my job but one of my favorite parts is getting to meet so many listeners.  I'm so grateful for every single person in that crowd.  You guys rock!

Wow all these pictures make my job seem like no work and all play!  I promise that's not the case.  We work so hard and so many hours.  These are just the perks of the job we get to enjoy every once in a while.  On Saturday night at Summerfest we had a group of winners who won the opportunity to meet Big Boi, formerly of the hip hop duo Outkast, after his show at Summerfest.  Someone had to bring the winners backstage to meet him so looks like I'll take one for the team! ;) Please excuse the big, frizzy hair!  It was humid!

Now onto Sunday, the final day of Summerfest.  I was so behind on errands, housework, etc. that I decided to not attend Summerfest.  By the last day everything should be running smoothly and I have such a great team they really didn't even need me.  I hit the gym in the morning, visited my Grandma for a couple hours, went grocery shopping, cleaned the house, caught up on laundry, etc.  I would have liked to just relax and catch up on sleep but if you know me at all, you know I can't sit still so on top of all that I decided to bake!  Our promotions team and on-air personalities had all been working so hard and so many extra hours so I decided a little sweet treat would be a nice way to thank them.  I had quite a few ingredients to make s'mores so thought I would bake something using them.  I of course searched pinterest and saw a recipe for S'mores Cookie Cups!  They were so easy to make and turned out great!  You can get the recipe here.  At the bottom it gives you an option to broil with chocolate on or add the chocolate after.  I did it both ways but preferred adding the chocolate after I broiled the marshmallow.  Have fun baking and let me know how it turns out!

Thanks for taking the time to check out my pics and I hope you have a great week!
