No network TV for Charlie Brown holiday special this year... BUT...

Good Grief! 2020 keeps throwing us curve balls. Now, the holidays are approaching, we can all tell with the weather, the darkness arriving so much earlier, and yes, you may be hearing that Christmas music will arrive soon here on 95.7 BIG FM. That means three traditional holiday favorites will be arriving soon, too: It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, and A Charlie Brown Christmas.

The big difference this year? You can't watch it on network TV.

For the first time since these specials first aired in the 1960s, over-the-air access to these Charlie Brown holiday specials is gone. Apple TV has struck up a deal that moves those shows to their streaming service.

What's the good news in this? Free, and flexible... at least briefly.

Apple has announced that families, including non-subscribers to Apple TV+, can still watch the holiday specials for free. “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” Halloween special will be available for free on Apple TV+ from Thursday, October 30th through Sunday, November 1st.

“A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” will be available for free from Wednesday, November 25th through Friday, November 27th on the platform.

Finally, “A Charlie Brown Christmas” will be available to customers for free from Friday, December 11th through Sunday, December 13th.

So it's a mix of good news and bad news, depending on if you subscribe to Apple TV+. You can find out more about the supported devices with their service by visiting apple.com/tvpr and offers.appletvapp.apple/.
