Okay, it's not Valentine's Day or anything, but romance is good any time of year. In this new episode of The Cabin, the official podcast of Discover Wisconsin, Mariah Haberman and I talk great destinations - and journeys - for romantic getaways. Of course we include popular places like Lake Geneva (especially with its resorts) and Door County with its beautiful scenery and get-away-from-it-all feel, but we also explore destinations like the Great River Road and the little river towns along it, which offer natural beauty, rugged topography, wineries, and B&B's that make for a wonderful, romantic getaway weekend. Bayfield, up on Lake Superior, is a great getaway offering access to the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore, outdoor recreation from hiking cliffs to kayaking among caves, and cozy places to stay. Some cities you might not guess, like La Crosse or cute towns in Sheboygan County, also offer more than you might expect.
