Dirty Dancing sequel will feature Jennifer Grey and be set in the 1990s

Dirty Dancing dazzled audiences as it became one of the most popular movies of the 1980s, and continues to be a classic to this day. We all know that nobody puts Baby in a corner. In my EricCast conversation with Bill Medley, we talked about the movie; he sang the classic duet "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" for the movies with Jennifer Warnes.

Since it's 2020 and many 80s classics are getting remakes, Lionsgate Films has announced they're bringing Baby back! A true sequel of the film has been announced - we're not counting Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights here - and it will feature Jennifer Grey as producer and playing a role in the film. Details about the plot (and who the modern-day Patrick Swayze-type will be, etc.) but we know it's likely to be set in the 1990s. Lionsgate Films CEO Jon Feltheimer promised, “It will be exactly the kind of romantic, nostalgic movie that the franchise’s fans have been waiting for and that have made it the biggest-selling library title in the company’s history.”
