The Cabin explores Farm To Fork dining and more Hidden Gems in new episode

Farm-to-Fork dining has continued to expand over the past few years as people across Wisconsin recognize the value and importance of shopping and dining local. In the newest episode of The Cabin, the official podcast of Discover Wisconsin, Mariah Haberman and I cover a few of our favorite farm-to-fork spots. They include Suncrest Gardens Pizza Farm in Cochrane (yes, we said "pizza farm"), Vino in the Valley in Maiden Rock, Nelson Stone Barn in Nelson, Campo di Bella in Mt Horeb, Meuer Farm just off US 151 and Highway 55 west of Chilton, the Driftless Cafe in Viroqua, and the Kraus House just south of Whitewater.

We also dive into what seems to increasingly is everyone's favorite topic: Hidden Gems in Wisconsin. So. we're making it a more regular segment! This week is all about Hidden Gems that are the best spots to be socially distant. We went with top picks by quadrant in Wisconsin. Southeast, we're going with the Paradise Springs Nature Trail in the Kettle Moraine Southern Unit area just west of Eagle; in the Northeast, the Door County Land Trust near Sturgeon Bay. We head to the Northwest for the CAMBA Trail System and Gravity Cavity near Seeley. Then, off to the Southwest and the Ocooch Mountains, which run throughout the Driftless Area but offer particularly great - and safe for social distancing - biking, walking and hiking trails plus great kayaking around Richland County. We also shout-out Fragrant Isle up on Washington Island, the beautiful Grant Park paths above and along the Lake Michigan shore in South Milwaukee, and then by Lake Superior we salute Superior Falls and the trails of the Montreal River, right on the Wisconsin-U.P. border.

Check it out on iHeartRadio, Apple Podcasts, or stream it right now below!
