Flashback to 1991: Drew Carey kills it on his first Tonight Show appearance

Comedian Drew Carey rose through the ranks from a "Star Search" appearance around 1990 to having "The Drew Carey Show" from 1995 to 2004, hosting "Whose Line Is It, Anyway?" from 1998 to 2007, and now, of course, host of "The Price is Right."

But as every comedian knew back when Johnny Carson hosted "The Tonight Show," if you did your act on the show and then Johnny invited you over to sit with him to talk more, your career essentially just kicked into overdrive. That happened for Drew Carey on November 8, 1991 when he delivered a set that the audience - and Johnny - loved. He later said he was holding back tears the whole time he was in that chair. Check out Drew Carey's set on that episode of "The Tonight Show" and imagine how cool that must have been.
