Whitewater is known to many for its UW campus, with its football team's multiple DIII national championships, the largest business school in the state of Wisconsin, and being a bit of a party town. But did you also know Whitewater has a long history of spiritual and paranormal activity, including being a notorious gathering place for witches and spirits? Whitewater is often called "Second Salem," so much so that there's a local craft brewery named after it. Unexplained phenomenon happens in and around town, and the old water tower near campus is rumored to have long been a place where witches and others gather.
Discover Wisconsin, in this brand-new episode, explores Whitewater and this history. We also go hang-gliding (well, Mariah gets to do that) and explore the local food scene in this farm-to-table town. Being nestled in the Kettle Moraine area, Whitewater has beautiful lakes and hills and is at the hub of great recreational trails. I hit Second Salem Brewing Company, explore The Fuzzy Pig (a really cool antique shop on a farm that also happens to have a fantastic farmhouse restaurant called the Kraus Haus), and tempt fate in local cemeteries after paying a visit to that mysterious old water tower as I join others on a paranormal tour.
It just aired this weekend, and in case you missed it, I just happen to have it right here, stream-able at your convenience. Thanks for watching!
