KFC's new fried chicken and donut sandwich looks like an awesome last meal

KFC is busting out with another combination to add to the fat, calories, and - let's face it - deliciousness of its fried chicken.

The Louisville-based chain announced that after testing it out last year, KFC is bringing the Fried Chicken and Donuts sandwich to locations nationwide.

The Kentucky Fried Chicken & Donuts sandwich is exactly what it sounds like: a crispy fried chicken filet sandwiched between two glazed doughnuts. The Basket meal will let you eat the items separately.

KFC announced in a press release that the sweet and salty concoction will hit menus nationwide this Monday. You'll be able to get the sandwich, or up the ante with the Fried Chicken and Donuts basket meal. You can also add a doughnut to any meal for an additional cost.

We first heard about this last September, when it popped up test markets like Norfolk and Richmond, Virginia; San Diego, California; and Portland, Oregon.

“KFC is no stranger to delicious food combinations and sweet deals,” the company had said during its original announcement, “most recently introducing the limited-time offerings of Cinnabon Dessert Biscuits this past May, [and] Kentucky Fried Chicken & Waffles in November 2018."

And while the addition of donuts sounds a little crazy, it's probably not too much worse for you than waffles on chicken, right?

Enjoy! But then get a workout in... this thing weighs in at about 860 calories, just for the chicken and donuts together. That doesn't count any sides or a drink.
