The NBA All-Star Game took place last night in Chicago, with Team LeBron eventually beating Team Giannis by one in an action-packed game that raised plenty of money for charity. There was a moving tribute to Kobe Bryant, a nice salute of Chicago and Michael Jordan, and two national anthems. The first, for Canada as a nod to Toronto and their Raptors, went off without a hitch. The U.S. anthem, "The Star Spangled Banner," was then sung by 10-time Grammy winner Chaka Khan, who grew up in Chicago. Her performance became a topic for discussion, with many saying it ranks among the all-time worst renditions of the anthem before a major sporting event.
Last week, Chaka was unmasked on The Masked Singer and many viewers were surprised at how badly she had performed. It became a precursor of things to come, apparently, for the NBA All-Star Game. It's been ranked up there with Fergie's performance as one of the worst ever already. But hey, you should see it for yourself if you haven't already. Watch it here!
