We went from Ship to Shore in Manitowoc on Discover Wisconsin this weekend!

While Wisconsin has tons of Great Lakes coastline and plenty of harbor towns, both Manitowoc and Two Rivers share a particular maritime history that envelops everything from shipwrecks to submarine building, from Lake Michigan ferries to pleasure boating and kayaking on area rivers. Both cities and the outskirts in Manitowoc County have a lot to see and do, and we explored a bunch of it on Discover Wisconsin this weekend. Mariah went undewrwater to tour old shipwrecks, I kayaked on the river and interviewed the head of one of the nation's largest yacht builders - Burger Boats - headquartered right in town,. We also explored the historic Rogers Street Fishing Village in Two Rivers, which is a great indoor and outdoor maritime heritage museum. On top of that, the area offers the Wisconsin Coastal Food & Beverage Trail, where you can explore everything from wineries and craft breweries to cheese factories and specialty confections.

That's just the start - check out this episode, "From Ship to Shore" from Discover Wisconsin, below! At your convenience, of course. :)
