Pabst show warm-up: Joey Molland & Badfinger doing "Baby Blue" in '72

Tonight in Milwaukee, "A Tribute to the Beatles' White Album" show takes place at the Pabst Theater. The show, which salutes the legendary album's 50th anniversary, features Todd Rundgren, Christopher Cross, Mickey Dolenz, and Jason Scheff. It also features Joey Molland, guitarist for the group Badfinger. As the first band signed to The Beatles' new Apple Records label, Badfinger (originally called "The Iveys") had some major power pop hits before issues between members, with managers, and the industry in general took a terrible toll on them.

But I loved Badfinger's songs, and one of them - "Baby Blue" - got some resurrection in popularity when it was chosen as the closing song for the TV show Breaking Bad. How did Molland the other boys look back in 1972 when the song came out? Well, here they are performing it for an audience that year on a show, hosted by none other than Kenny Rogers. He introduces them at the beginning, making this thing pretty cool from the very start. Molland is the guitarist on the left, and you can see him along with Rundgren, Cross, Dolenz, and Scheff tonight at the Pabst Theater!
