TODAY marks the 50th anniversary of the premiere of "The Brady Bunch"

September 26, 1969, 50 years ago today (yikes!) was the first time The Brady Bunch was shown on television. Somewhat controversial at the time, the show debuted to low ratings, had moderate ratings throughout its run up to 1974, and then took off in syndication to become one of the most beloved sit-coms of all time.

Cast members reunited to talk about the show, reminisced about various episodes, and shared their thoughts on the show's enduring appeal across multiple generations in this USA Today interview. While all six Brady kids are still with us, sadly Robert Reed, Florence Henderson, and Ann B. Davis have all left us. And in case you were curious, Allen Melvin - who played Alice's occasional love interest and bowling partner - passed away 11 years ago, too.

I got to talk with Barry Williams (Greg Brady, or "Johnny Bravo" depending on which episode you watch) last November in my EricCast about the Very Brady Renovation show on HGTV and the impending 50th anniversary of the show. We also caught up with this theatre work, how he grew up with Peter Graves as a neighbor in California and how that inspired him to take up acting, and more.

Check out our fun conversation in this EricCast episode here, or stream it below!
