Paul McCartney wrapped up his "Freshen Up" Tour at Dodger Stadium Saturday night, giving his typical epic performance with his band.
But this "three hour tour" show became extra epic, as his former Beatles bandmate Ringo Starr joined him to perform “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise)" and “Helter Skelter."
“We’ve got a surprise for us, a surprise for you, a surprise for everyone: Ladies and gentlemen, the one and only, Ringo Starr,” McCartney announced to the sold-out crowd. In the least shocking part of the show, the 79-year-old drummer's words to the audience were "Peace and Love!"
But McCartney had more up his sleeve: his 38-song set also included a surprise appearance by Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh, who came out midway through the Abbey Road classic "The End."
“The best part is we didn’t have a clue what we were doing,” McCartney joked after Walsh's appearance.
