All In the Family & The Jeffersons revival - LIVE! - airs Wednesday night

Producer Norman Lear, who created so many groundbreaking TV shows - especially in the 70s - teamed up with famed director James Burrows and Jimmy Kimmel to bring back a production of "All In the Family" and "The Jeffersons" - it's a one-time shot and will air LIVE on ABC Wednesday evening, 7:00 Central.

The cast lineup includes Woody Harrelson, Marisa Tomei, Jamie Foxx, Wanda Sykes, Ike Barinholtz (as "Meathead", with a very '70s mustache), Kerry Washington, Ellie Kemper, and more. Jamie Foxx, who plays George Jefferson, has been practicing yelling out “Weezy!” and Harrelson, who will play Archie Bunker, sings a strain of "Those Were the Days," the classic All in the Family theme song written for the show, but actually charted on some music surveys around 1972.

Norman Lear talked about the live nature of the show in an interview with Entertainment Weekly (which also includes a cast clip) saying about the actors and actresses, “They’ll all bring something unexpected because we know the characters from the original show, and we know the actors from the things they’ve been doing preceding this event. And so, I’m going to be as eager and surprised as any viewer.”

We'll see how it goes Wednesday night! Meantime, here are Norman Lear and Jimmy Kimmel talking about the upcoming show:
