Marvin Gaye gets a USPS stamp to commemorate his 80th birthday

The United States Postal Service announced that they are honoring Marvin Gaye for his 80th birthday with the release of a commemorative "Forever Stamp." The stamp features a portrait of Gaye, designed to mimic vintage vinyl cover art - particularly as they looked on the old 45s.

"Gaye's presence and unique sound will live on forever through his music and now through the mail," the postal service said in a press release.

The Marvin Gaye stamp is part of their long-running "Music Icons" series of stamps, which have previously included the likes on John Lennon, Lena Horne, Hank Williams, James Brown, Janis Joplin, Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, Jimi Hendrix, and more.

The stamps run 55 cents each - the current postage rate. You can buy them online from the USPS here.
