According to this article from MSN.com, the Hallmark Channel is dropping Aunt Becky from Fuller House in wake of the college admissions scandal that has enveloped the actress who plays her, Lori Loughlin, as well as actress Felicity Huffman and a whole slew of people who, well, figured they could buy and cheat their way into admissions to certain universities for their kids.
Actually, people have been doing that in some form for years, but this whole thing is on another level. Lori Loughlin and her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, allegedly paid a total of $500,000 so that their two daughters would be designated as recruits to the USC crew team. Neither girl participated in the sport.
An episode of When Calls the Heart, a period drama in which Louglin stars, was scheduled to air Sunday. Hallmark pulled the episode and released an update that they were "considering creative options" for the remainder of the series. Crown Media, which produces the show, had already said they were stopping development of any productions involving Loughlin in the wake of the scandal.
So what does this mean for the Fuller House as the series was already preparing to wind down? Guess we'll have to see. In the meantime, tell your kids to study hard! Or be really legit good in a sport, crew or not.
TMZ reported on it too, here's what they had to say:
