A 32 year-old Madison man thought it would clever - and whatever else - to take "upskirt" photos and video of women by affixed a digital camera to his shoe.
In what may be described as "karma," it didn't go as planned.
After affixing a camera to his shoe, the camera's battery exploded, injuring his foot. He turned himself in to police and, as Madison Police Chief Mike Koval noted in his daily report (item #5 here), since no video or photos were actually taken he was released after he was "counseled on his actions."
To be a fly on the wall in that room for that conversation, huh? A police investigation is ongoing on the matter.
By the way: "upskirting," the act of secretly taking photos or videos under an unsuspecting person’s skirt, is a felony under Wisconsin state law, and is punishable by up to three-and-a-half years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
And be careful about what batteries you use for any electronics! They aren't supposed to explode like that.
