Elton John coming to MKE, then retiring from tours

Elton John's going to say Goodbye to the Yellow Brick Road on one more tour - and then retire from the road.

But before that final yellow brick, the road will take him through Milwaukee.

Elton will play the "new Milwaukee Bucks arena" - which will very likely be called something else by then - on February 19, 2019 as part of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour.

John was quoted as saying to CNN, "I've been touring since I was 17 with various bands. I thought the time is right to say thank you to all my fans and say goodbye."

The American Express pre-sale starts tomorrow, January 25 at 10 am and runs through Monday, January 29 at 10 pm. The Ticketmaster verified pre-sale begins Tuesday, January 30 at 10 am and runs for 24 hours, through Wednesday, January 31 at 10 pm. General ticket sales to the public begin at 10 am on Friday, Feb. 2.

Of course, Elton John has performed in Milwaukee numerous times, including a double bill with Billy Joel in 1994 and County Stadium and his "surprise" show in 2003 at the Harley-Davidson 100th Anniversary Party. He played the Kohl Center in Madison in 1999. And now he'll get to play the new arena (whatever it will be called by then) in Milwaukee February 19, 2019.

I wish that was a Saturday night, so it'd alright for fightin'! (Had to...)
