Icon Betty White, whose TV career began in 1952, turns 96 today. She was born in Oak Park, Illinois - right outside of Chicago - on January 17, 1922. In a interview with Parade, she noted a short time back that part of the secret to her longevity was "vodka and hot dogs"... and who are we to question??
So what is Betty older than? Well, for one thing, sliced bread, which was first offered commercially in 1928. So you could say sliced bread is the best thing since Betty White.
