Slowhand, big fish: Eric Clapton reels in a biggie

Looks like Eric Clapton is pretty talented with the fly rod as well as the guitar!

Clapton was fly-fishing trip in Iceland last week and reeled in a 28-pound salmon on the Vatnsdalsá River, setting the record for reeling in the biggest salmon of the summer. It measured 42.5 inches, and that's no fish story. Apparently Clapton had to run over half a mile downriver after hooking the monster, and spent two and a half hours reeling it in (who knew fishing was that much work??) They have a strict catch-and-release policy there, but as you can see, Slowhand got his picture with it before releasing it back.

Clapton has been an avid fisherman for the past 30 years; it's served as a healthy pastime for him since his late 1980s rehab. Clearly, he knows what he's doing!
