If you're running low on stamps, pop into your local post office today and stock up. The price of a U.S. stamp is about to go up AGAIN.
Starting Sunday, "Forever" stamps will jump from 63 cents to 66 cents. It's the second price jump this year, and the fifth since 2019.
At the start of 2019, they were 50 cents. They upped it to 55 that January . . . then 58 in 2021 . . . 60 last year . . . 63 this past January . . . and now 66 cents.
The cost to send a postcard will also jump from 48 to 51 cents. And sending a letter overseas will now cost $1.50, up from $1.45.
They announced the latest price bumps in April, citing higher "operating expenses fueled by inflation." It's also part of their 10-year plan to increase revenue and stop operating at a loss.
USPS had a $1 BILLION net loss in the first quarter of 2023 alone. But that's actually better than the same time last year, when it was $1.5 billion.
