Jack Nicholson's Axe from "The Shining" Just Sold for HOW MUCH??

Heeeeere's money! The axe prop that JACK NICHOLSON used in "The Shining" sold for $175,000.  (!!!)

The auction had a total of 12 bids. The final bid was actually $140,000 . . . but a buyer's premium of $35,000 gets added on . . . and then voila, $175,000. And it's not even autographed.

As for the axe itself, it's made of foam and resin. Which makes it pretty lightweight, perfect for Jack to be swinging it all around the Overlook Hotel. It's displayed in a shadowbox with photos from the movie.
