Get ready for the price of THIS to go up in August-and a delivery slowdown

  • You'll pay more for stamps starting in about a month.
  • The U.S. postal service is hiking stamp prices from 55 cents to 58 cents starting on August 29.
  • Back in the 1970s, stamps started out at just 8 cents.
  • Higher postage prices are also coming with slower delivery times as part of Postmaster Louis DeJoy's plan to stop billions of dollars in losses.
  • Officials note that a lot of mail will now take two additional days to reach recipients.
