- Border agents seized more fentanyl in the first four months of the year than they did in all 12 months of 2020.
- That's according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials, who say agents confiscated 6,494 pounds of the drug by the end of April.
- That compares to 4,776 pounds that was seized the previous year. The uptick is consistent with a trend that's seen seizures consistently increase since 2018, CBP reports.
