Eddie Van Halen, the guitarist who became a rock icon in the band that shared his name, has died at age 65.
His son Wolfgan tweeted the news today, saying his dad "lost his long and arduous battle with cancer this morning."
The band Van Halen formed in the '70s and became a staple of rock radio with hits like "Runnin' With the Devil," "Panama" and "Dance the Night Away."
