Brewers take down Phillies 5-2 on Wednesday night

Gio Gonzalez had a solid outing again for Milwaukee, and the Brewers used seven hits from the top of their order to defeat the Philadelphia Phillies 5-2 on Wednesday night.

Gonzalez gave up seven hits, but only one run, across five and one-third innings pitched. The Brewers' bullpen went the rest of the way, giving up just two hits and one run to preserve the victory.

The heavy lifting was done by the numbers one through five hitters for Milwaukee, led by Christian Yelich and Ryan Braun with two hits apiece.

Manny Pina injured his hamstring in the game and will head to the injured list.
