Bucks hang on for win No. 8

Giannis Antetokounmpo’s return to the Milwaukee Bucks lineup Wednesday night was a welcome sight but little else in his team’s 121-119 win at Fiserv Forum.

Antetokounmpo played 33 minutes just two nights after sitting out against Indiana because of a slightly sprained knee suffered against San Antonio Saturday night. The reigning two-time MVP scored just 13 points, less than half of his 28.6-point average this season.

Milwaukee had a 25-point lead midway through the third quarter, but Boston came back and had the final shot as time expired. However, Daniel Theis’ open three-point attempt from the corner missed the mark, allowing the Bucks to escape with their eighth straight win and their 14th victory in their last 15 games.

Khris Middleton led all scorers with 27 points for Milwaukee on 11-20 shooting (2-4 from the three-point line). Bobby Portis added 21 points off the bench.

The Bucks (29-14) will again play the Celtics (21-23) on Friday night at Fiserv Forum.
