After their decisive win at Lambeau Field against the Tennessee Titans last week, I was feeling pretty good this week about the Packers playoff chances as they traveled to Chicago for their final regular season game against the Bears. It was set as a big game for both teams, with the Packers needing a win to get the top seed in the NFC and along with it, a first round bye and home field advantage for the two remaining playoff games leading up to the Super Bowl. The Bears are literally fighting for their lives as a win would put them into the playoffs and a lose would end their season.
Then came the news mid-week that the heart of the Packers offensive line David Bakhtiari, who just a month ago signed the most lucrative contract an offensive lineman has ever signed, had torn his ACL in a freak accident during practice and would miss the rest of the season, and likely part of next season.
So, I was a little nervous. While the game ended up being a little closer in the second and third quarters that I would like, the Pack came through, winning the game and the top seed. Now, the big question, what are we going to do next Sunday?
