Growing up in the North Shore in the 80s and 90s, my mall was Northridge. It's hard to believe how long it's sat abandoned and rotting. Over the years, there have been rumors of things going into the sprawling north side location, all ending up on the drawing room floor. Finally now, the city of Milwaukee is demanding the China-based owners rip it down.
In a press conference last week, the mayor and alderwoman for the district called Northridge dangerous. Alderwoman Lewis said that vandalism and trespassing has been a big problem for years. They also noted that if the company that owns the abandoned mall does not comply with the order to pull the building down, it could potentially cost the city money to do so, check the report for our friends at FOX6.
