'Jersey Shore' Star Deena Cortese Gets Her First Taste Of Mom-Shaming

Jersey Shore star Deena Cortese is going to learn very quickly that social media is full of know-it-alls who will criticize every parenting move and her first dose of mom-shaming arrived when she shared photos of her newborn son, Christopher John "CJ," heading home from the hospital.

On Tuesday (January 8), the MTV reality star shared a shot of her little one in a car seat, writing, "Going home (it's not a jacket .. it’s a onesie and hospital approved it) we're not perfect but we got this. Thank you for the concerns." If you're wondering what the fuss was about, it all boiled down to safety. Winter coats worn underneath a car seat harness can reportedly leave the straps dangerously loose and followers were quick to hop on the star for her apparent misstep.

Just last Saturday, Cortese and husband Chris Buckner welcomed the birth of their baby boy, who arrived at a whopping 6 Lb and 8.5 ounces. "Mommy and daddy love you so much CJ .. you're our everything," the star wrote in her announcement post via Instagram. "I never thought I could love Chris any more than I did until I saw him hold CJ."

The couple, who wed in 2017, announced they were expecting their first child in July 2018, which was part of the reason why Cortese wasn't around for the entirety of the last Jersey Shore: Family Vacation season. "Chris and I decided to wait until we were ready to spill the beans! Now that we are safely into our second trimester.. us and our little monkey are ready to tell the world Our little family is growing!" she wrote at the time. "We have a sweet little boy on the way! We Are truly blessed and our hearts are filled with so much joy and happiness."
