Aaron Rogers posted this photo on his Instragram account in late June but only recently did he offer a more detailed explanation. Over the weekend, he shared his shark story with Peter King for Football Morning in America.
Rodgers shark experience took place just off the coast of San Diego, and it was just as terrifying as his picture makes it look. He was trying to overcome his fear of sharks by filming a segment for Shark Week on the Discovery Channel and came face-to-face with a blue shark.
The Packers quarterback said things got so intense that he kind of blacked out. "I was terrified. Honestly, I was blacked out," Rodgers said. "It just came up to me and all I was thinking was, 'Oh my god it's actually happening. What do I do?' Okay, boom. I just moved his head down to the right. But it was fun. I have a different appreciation for sharks now. I'm okay with 'em."
Rodgers' segment is set to air at some point next week during Discovery Channel's seven-day celebration of sharks (July 22-29). Coincidentally, Rodgers' segment could end up airing on the same day that the Packers report to training camp (July 25)
